A spokesperson for Stockport County said: "Following a season that saw the Club achieve its highest league finish since 2002, and set a new club-record points tally in the third tier, we would like to thank each departing player for their contributions over the course of the campaign."
Club CEO, Simon Wilson added: "A huge thank you to the playing group who have collectively delivered a fantastic performance over the course of the season. We are so proud of every single one of them and so grateful to what they have brought to this team.
"As everyone knows, this time of the season is when decisions are taken regarding the future make-up of the team, and therefore sadly we have to say goodbye to some of the group.
"You couldn't wish to meet a more dedicated and professional pair of players in Cody Johnson and Kyle Knoyle, and whilst both players could easily be retained, we feel they may be able to secure better terms and playing opportunities elsewhere.
"Both have contributed hugely to the Club and are forever part of our history.
"We are in dialogue with several others regarding next steps and as soon as we have conclusive decisions we will update further. I appreciate fans (as we are) will be keen to see players commit, however deals must suit all parties and we all must respect the players' positions as they consider options."
