Stockport County staff have raised £1,754 for prostate cancer research as part of an October challenge.

Last month, Dave Challinor and coaches Dave Conlon, Stuart Irwin, Sam Holt and Tim Holloway took on the Prostate United challenge.

Prostate United was a challenge organised by Prostate Cancer UK, urging football clubs from all different leagues and their fans to run, walk or cycle to raise money for the charity.

The gaffer committed to cycling 25 kilometres every day of October, whilst the other coaches ran five kilometres every day in support of the cancer charity.

Coach Conlan said: "Staff have enjoyed the challenge throughout the month - but pleased they've now completed it, and ready for a rest!

"It's been great to both raise awareness and funds for such a brilliant charity. And we'd like to thank everyone who has supported us during the month."

Stockport County FC are still hoping to meet their £2,000 goal - click here to support the cause.
