Stockport Council relaunches family support vouchers scheme
Stockport Council is relaunching its family support voucher scheme, which provides monetary vouchers to help with the cost of living.
Eligible families can receive a voucher of £105 per child.
Residents are eligible if their children are receiving free school meals (or early years / post-16 equivalent) or if they have children and are in receipt of local council tax support and / or housing benefit.
Vouchers will be sent from July. They will come via email or the post. See the relevant council webpage for more details.
You can also check if you are eligible (and set up an account if you haven't already) HERE.
The scheme forms part of the Household Support Fund, which is funded by the UK Government.
Councillor Jilly Julian, cabinet member for finance and resources, said: "We know that times continue to be hard in this ongoing cost-of-living crisis, and we want to do all we can to help residents across Stockport, especially households with young families. [...]
"We hope [the vouchers] will reduce some of the financial pressures that many face over the summer, such as navigating the school holiday and buying uniforms for the coming year."
This is not the only support available from the council - you can find more options and information HERE.
Certainly, Cllr Julian adds: "It's so important that everyone living in our borough is aware of and can access the support available to them."
