Stockport Council are currently offering the 'Spend Well, Live Well' grant, which can provide money to community organisations.
Any community, voluntary, or social enterprise organisation can apply for a grant of up to £5,000 for single organisation applications. If you are applying on behalf of a collaborative project, you can apply for up to £20,000.
The grant aims to offer a lifeline to community organisations providing important services which may be suffering in the cost of living crisis.
"At Stockport Council, we know that many residents are struggling with the rising cost-of-living, and that our community organisations provide vital services for Stockport", a statement on the council website reads.
"We want to increase access to services for all residents, by helping community organisations continue to provide lifeline services."
"The priorities for grant allocation will be focused on those who can provide support, services and activities to individuals, families or communities which are most in need.
"It could be a one-off project based around a response to the cost-of-living crisis, or a need for funding to widen access to or delivery of services."
Councillor Mark Hunter also added: "I encourage all our wonderful community organisations to consider an application for a Spend Well, Live Well grant if you have an idea for a project or expansion plans."
The deadline for applications is 30 May. An information session will run tomorrow (23 May) from 11am-1pm in the Windmill Café of the Stockport Homes building.
