Stockport bookshop celebrates two-year anniversary

A much-loved local bookseller is celebrating two years in business.
Serenity Booksellers was founded in Romiley in April 2023, and quickly became a hub for book lovers across the area.
After a successful year and a half in business, owners Chris and Kelly opened a second bookshop in Stockport town centre in December 2024.
Independent and family-owned, Serenity aims to provide bookshops which are welcoming and accessible - their locations are handy, and their two stores have wide aisles for prams and wheelchair users.
- Their Romiley bookshop can be found at 12 The Precinct.
- Their Stockport bookshop can be found at 11 Warren Street.

Thanks to 'immense' support from the local community, they've been able to host regular events including author talks, creative writers' groups, school events, and much more.
To celebrate their two year anniversary, Serenity is hosting a fun day on Saturday 3 May across its two stores.
Postman Bear from Julia Donaldson's Tales from Acorn Wood will be giving a free storytime for younger visitors at the two stores (Romiley 11am / Stockport 2pm).
There will also be raffles, giveaways, special offers, and even optional fancy dress.
Bookshop owner Kelly says, "The previous fun days at Serenity Booksellers have been an absolute joy with our Romiley community, and we are looking forward to celebrating what has been an exciting first two years of business with customers and friends both new and old alike. This will be our first fun day to happen across both sites."
