Crazy Legs Events is a Stockport-based company hosting a range of racing events across the North West.
If you fancy a break from Parkrun, or simply a change of scenery, the company is hosting a weekend of duathlon races from 16-17 September in rolling, verdant Derbyshire.
The organisers describe the races as
'relaxed, friendly and low key', adding: "[It's] a perfect opportunity for young and old to take on a new challenge and have some fun."
So long as you can run, cycle, and have a roadworthy bike, helmet, and pair of running shoes, you can take part in the races, either as a junior or a senior.
Junior races are split into age-appropriate distances from age eight up to 16 and take place on Saturday 16 September.
There are also two senior races taking place on the Sunday morning (17 September).
As the organiser says: "All abilities - from experienced athletes looking for some competitive racing to junior novices looking for something a bit different from Parkrun - are welcome.
"We have friendly crew on hand to walk the juniors through each stages of their race so when they get to the Start line, they'll know what to do."
The races take place on the traffic-free race circuit at Darley Moor racetrack near Ashbourne, an ideal venue to try this dual-disciplined sport of run-bike-run.
There is also free basic camping available at the race track the night before the respective events. With a possible two free nights with a junior and senior entry from the same family, why not make a weekend of it in the beautiful Peak District?
