A Stockport bar is facing a licence review after allegations of 'serious crime' at the premises.
Huffy's at the Three Shires, based in Stockport's Underbanks, previously had its licence suspended in May following an application from Greater Manchester Police (GMP).
Councillors heard GMP's evidence and found that the bar 'had been associated with serious crime.'
A report from this meeting stated: 'The sub committee considered that the serious nature of the alleged incident, coupled with concerns in relation to the significant failures in the effective management of the premises, meant that it was necessary to take interim steps pending the final determination of the review.
'For the prevention of crime and disorder, it was appropriate and necessary to suspend the premises licence for all licensable activities pending the final determination of the review.'
The nature of the incident was not shared.
GMP's press office told the LDRS that it could not comment on the issue "due to sensitivities of the matters being discussed."
Efforts to contact Huffy's have received no response.
Huffy's is facing a further licensing hearing this week to determine its future.
The establishment describes itself as a 'family run wine bar, restaurant and function room in the centre of Stockport's historic Underbank.'
The Underbanks area of Stockport is undergoing major changes at the moment, with new shops and outlets opening up, and regeneration work taking place to improve the area.
It is a key part of plans to transform Stockport town centre and turn it into one of the best places to live and work in Greater Manchester.
In February, Stockport was awarded a Purple Flag Award for the quality of its night-time offering.
This recognised that the town has focused on the security and well-being of visitors and locals, while offering a lively and varied blend of food, entertainment, and culture.
