Stepping Hill Hospital officer shortlisted for national award in London
A hard-working Stepping Hill Hospital officer has been shortlisted for a national award in recognition of her efforts.
Sarah Irvine, a cleanliness monitoring officer, helps ensure hygiene standards are high at the hospital. And, naturally, the importance of a clean hospital needs no explanation.
She has been shortlisted in the 'Auditor of The Year' category in the annual MyCleaning Awards, which celebrate the best in healthcare cleaning standards across both the UK and Ireland.
Out of 300 applicants across the country, Sarah placed in the top three.
She has been praised for her positive, motivational style, helping to ensure both morale and cleaning standards remain high. She is described by Stockport NHS as "a visible and ever-present member of the domestic team in wards, treatment areas and offices across the site, [who] helps to ensure all members of the team are working efficiently and effectively"
Jo Morris, Facilities Support Services Manager for Stockport NHS Foundation Trust said "Sarah is a really wonderful, positive colleague who always manages to help keep the team motivated in a very busy environment. She's a vital part of keeping cleaning standards high here are a Stepping Hill Hospital, and we're all very happy she's been shortlisted for this award."
The winners of the MyCleaning Awards will be announced at a ceremony at Salsa Temple, Victoria Embankment, London on the evening of 20 February.
