Stepping Hill Hospital's catering team is in the running for a national award.

The talented chefs and catering assistants at Stockport NHS are finalists in the 'Hospital Catering' category at this year's Public Sector Catering Awards.

The awards aim to celebrate the work of teams and individuals in the public sector, including in schools, hospitals, care homes, universities, prisons, and the armed forces.

The team are being recognised for their use of high-quality ingredients, reduction of waste, and of course, their delicious and nutritious food.

They work hard not just to get patients fit and healthy again, but also to provide tasty meals to visitors at the hospital.

The winners of the awards will be announced at a glittering ceremony in the London Metropole Hotel on Thursday 9 April.

The team are building on an already impressive record of catering at Stockport NHS; they have won at the Public Sector catering Awards previously, and last year their apprentice chef Joe Omolo was the joint winner of the title 'NHS Chef of the Year'.
