Plans have been submitted for what appears to be a Starbucks cafe in Stockport town centre.

The plans include details of signs and shop frontage at 48-58 Merseyway, which passers by will know as STOK, or the former M&S building.

It should be made clear that, as yet, plans have only been submitted for signage, and not an interior.

A Starbucks spokesperson was unable to give further information, saying that the company cannot comment on planning applications.

Plans were submitted by Cafe Fortune Ltd, which describes itself as "a fast-growing Starbucks Franchise with 19 stores across the UK".

The company also says: "We continue to grow at a fast pace with many exciting opportunities on the horizon."

The STOK building contains office space on the first floor, with retail space available on the ground floor.

A real estate document from 2020 says of the space: "The subject premises is located at the heart of Merseyway, Stockport's prime retail pitch."

The consultation expiry date is 4 June - find more information HERE. A decision is expected in July.
