There is lots to do in Stockport over the next few days.

Running from now until Saturday 25 May is The Garrick Theatre's production of 'A Bunch of Amateurs' - "a comedy of dramatic proportions".

Also on Saturday is the return of the Reddish Worker Bee Market, but this time with a special dog show adding to the festivities! And, further still, Amaretti Chamber Orchestra will take to the stage at St Andrew's church on Saturday evening for a performance of works from Mozart, Gerald Finzi, and Florence Price.

Perhaps the headline event of the weekend is Rockstock festival, spanning Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th.

Rounding off the weekend on Sunday is another musical event - this time it's the Grarden Party at Chadkirk Chapel, featuring a range of performers and genres.

A washed-up Hollywood movie star attempts to rescue his flagging career by agreeing to play King Lear in Stratford. Only this isn't the birthplace of Shakespeare and it isn't at the RSC. It's the wrong Stratford and the star finds himself in a sleepy Suffolk village with the local amateur dramatics society, who are trying to save their theatre from developers.

There can only be trouble in store as acting worlds collide and the unassuming locals clash with the massive ego of the Tinseltown actor. A BUNCH OF AMATEURS is a hilarious love letter to am-dram and anyone who's ever been involved will immediately recognise the characters and dilemmas!
