A company used to giving back to charity fundraisers is now doing a fundraiser of their own.

Local online prize draw company High Peak Comps is to take on the Great Manchester Run, to raise money for Stockport homeless charity The Wellspring.

The High Peak Comps crew Charlie Edwards, Callen Deighan, Alexander Greensmith and Lewis Moore are doing the 10k run to raise money for the Stockport charity.

They want to raise £1000 for The Wellspring charity, and have already donated £500 of company money towards the fundraiser.

The Wellspring Stockport provides essential support to people without a home or who are at risk of losing their home.

Services at their Harvey Street site include hot meals, showers and a GP.

High Peak Comps first worked with the charity last year, when they donated £100 worth of food to their volunteer-led kitchen, which serves fresh food to service users.

Janet Parish, Business & Community Liaison at The Wellspring said: "We are incredibly grateful that the team from High Peak Comps are running the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run to support The Wellspring as we celebrate 35 years of helping people in Stockport facing homelessness and hardship.

"Their efforts will directly help the people we support, providing meals, advice, healthcare, and housing support.

"We can't thank the team enough for their generosity and wish them the very best on race day."

The charity has the slogan 'building futures beyond homelessness'.

Charles Edwards, owner of High Peak Comps said: "We're buzzing to raise loads of money for The Wellspring.

"We're used to running a company, but what we are not used to is running.

"Please support me, Cal, Lewis and Alex as we ruin our legs for this wonderful charity.

"We donated food to The Wellspring last year, and are delighted to run the Great Manchester Run for them.

"You can donate on JustGiving. Thank you to anyone who donates, shares or likes this fundraiser. We're going to have some fun for such an important charity."
