Reddish to welcome massive new artisan market to Broadstone Mill for the first time
By Alasdair Perry 25th Mar 2026
A massive new artisan market is coming to Broadstone Mill in Reddish.
On Saturday 28 March, an otherwise unassuming area just outside the mill will be transformed into a veritable agora of market stalls, purveying art, bakes, decor, pizza, and much, much more.
The event is organised by Independent Street - which regularly hosts similar markets across the UK - and will feature 60 traders for what will be the organisers' first appearance in Stockport.
Expect all the wonderful sights and sounds of a market - vibrant colours, the tempting smells of something cooking, and live music.
Lisa Cowley, Independent Street's founder, said she and the team have carefully curated a top collection of traders from the local area and beyond.
"We try and make sure there's a good range of stalls", Lisa explained.
"Every market we do is different. We're not a travelling market so there are different traders every time - you're always likely to bump into someone new."

Lisa herself was a market trader for eight years, before resetting and starting up her own business.
She's brought her impressive experience as a trader to bear on these Independent Street markets so they're the best possible environment for shoppers and sellers alike.
You can browse a full list of Saturday's traders here.
Among the highlights on Saturday is The Big Dog Pizza, who will be donating every penny they make to the British Heart Foundation - Lisa has given them a free pitch for the purpose.
There will also be free children's activities, face painting, an arts workshop, live music, and of course, a huge selection of traders.
Above all, the aim is just to provide an enjoyable day - a place to browse, enjoy the atmosphere, and appreciate a more 'real' version of shopping.

"We're becoming more of a faceless society in some ways", Lisa explained. "People are missing that face-to-face interaction more and more.
"People like to chat to the cheesemonger, or the artist, or the baker, or whoever it may be.
"In a world of Amazon Prime and Deliveroo, it's a chance to actually meet the people behind the products.
"It's an opportunity to put the screen down, browse the stalls and just enjoy the day.
The first-ever Reddish Independent Street artisan market is taking place at Broadstone Mill on Saturday 28 March, from 10am-4pm.
The market is free to visit, and features on-site parking.
If you'd like to run a stall yourself at one of the markets, visit the Independent Street website.
