Flecky Bennett's Original Stockport Ghost Walk | Stockport Plaza (meeting point) | Fri 21 August | 7pm

The performance starts outside the wonderful Plaza Theatre, and then Flecky will guide you up the steps and down to the depths!

As you rise 256 feet above sea level expect to listen to history, strange and funny stories, and ghosts - from mad hatters to haunted taverns, devils, dancehalls and dungeons.

There is also a 30 minute pub/interval in the amazing Underbanks (drinks not included).

Flecky is described as the Ghost Walker Extraordinaire by Visit Manchester and with a completely unique style including his iconic smoking musical codpiece and Daliesque moustache he will entrance you with his dark humour and passion for his subject.

Cheadle Country Fest | Old Rectory Gardens | Sat 22 August | 12.30-9pm

Stockports biggest free live country music event in Cheadle Village!

Featuring some of the best local country acts playing everything from the classics to modern Americana!

No tickets needed and to starts at 12.30pm 'til 9.30pm!

Local businesses will be selling some great food and drink on the day!

This is a family friendly event so everyone welcome!

British Street Food Awards | Stockport Market Place | Sun 23 August | 12-6pm

The award-winning Stockport Foodie Friday will be hosting the Northern heat of the prestigious British Street Food Awards in Stockport Market on Sunday 23rd August, 12pm to 6pm.

Stockport Foodie Friday regularly attracts thousands of visitors to Stockport on the last Friday of every month and was crowned 'Best Pop-Up' at the 2016 Manchester Food & Drink Festival Awards and again in 2022.

The event has also secured international recognition, with Foodie Friday nominated for the 'Best Placemaking' award at the City Nation Place Awards 2025, competing against entries from Stockholm, Toronto and Cleveland, USA.

This exciting collaboration with the British Street Food Awards creates the unique opportunity to spend a relaxed Sunday afternoon in Stockport's beautiful Victorian Market Place, sampling some of the very best street food that the North has to offer. Twenty traders have been selected from 3000 applicants, including a number of award-winning regular Foodie Friday traders, with flavours from all around the world including India, Italy, Thailand, China, Japan, Jamaica, Canada and USA.

A panel of celebrity judges including award-winning chef Sam Buckley of acclaimed Stockport restaurant 'Where The Light Gets In', will decide which trader goes forward to the National Final of the competition and you can also vote for your favourite to be 'Peoples' Champion'!

As well as so many delicious food choices on offer, the event will also feature live music and children's activities throughout the afternoon making this the ideal family-friendly day out. Visitors are strongly encouraged to come along to eat, drink and vote!

The event is supported by Totally Stockport, Robinsons Brewery and the South-East Manchester & Crewe to Manchester Community Rail Partnerships who are encouraging visitors to travel to Stockport by train.
