Classic car show to wow visitors to Stockport Market Place this weekend
By Alasdair Perry 4th Aug 2026
Motor enthusiasts are in for a treat this weekend, with a classic car show due to take place outside Stockport Market on Sunday 9 August.
It will be part of the Krazy Races event, the hugely popular and free soapbox derby race due to take over the town centre that same day.
The car show will feature 40 classic Lamborghinis and Ferraris from the Italian Auto Moto Club, pitched up just outside the covered market.
And, if you fancy a bit of extra shopping, the market itself will be open from 10am-4.30pm.
The Krazy Races event itself will take place in St Peter's Square, with around 30 teams of racers due to speed from the square down to Chestergate in their homemade vehicles.
Points will be dished out based on fastest time, most stylish racers, and more.
And that's not all - historic aircraft will also be taking to the skies on the day, as part of a Battle of Britain memorial flight which promises to be a fantastic spectacle for visitors of all ages.
Danny Scoffin, head of brand & strategic development for Krazy Races, said: "We're always looking for ways to evolve Krazy Races, and this is a really exciting addition for Stockport.
"The Italian Auto Moto Club will bring something completely different to the day and adds another level of spectacle for visitors."
Shaun Freeman-Jones, Totally Stockport BID Manager, added: "We ask Krazy Races to bring something new to each event, and they've delivered once again.
"Seeing such an impressive collection of retro Ferraris and Lamborghinis across Stockport Market will be an incredible sight and a real draw for visitors."
