"In Asia, we call it Sakura.

"Bring your family and friends, point to the blossom trees, and show off your Japanese knowledge."

Bramhall Mother's Day Market | Village Square / Bramhall Precinct | Sat 14 March | 10am-3pm

Worker Bee Markets, Stockport's only local handmade markets, are bringing their unique buzz to Bramhall Village Square monthly throughout 2026.

Starting on Saturday 14 March, with a special Mother's Day Event, 40+ stalls have been hand-picked to offer everything you need to make Mum's day special. Alongside handmade cards there'll be lots of gift ideas including books, art, skincare, resin homeware, coffee beans, crochet and gin. There'll also be freshly baked foodie treats and activities for kids, including face painting from The Artful Dodger and local magician Hobbers, performing close-up magic.

What makes Worker Bee Markets extra special is that at least a third of the makers are hyper-local, from Bramhall, Hazel Grove, Poynton, Cheadle Hulme, Heald Green and Cheadle. As a business, they encourage, nurture and give a platform to these locals to showcase their talents and help their creativity blossom.

Set in the heart of Bramhall, the Village Square is a pedestrianised shopping centre with lots of independent shops and eateries. They'll all be open too so you can make a day of it, supporting local businesses and keeping your money in your community.

Here, Together - Greater Manchester Live Well festival | Signol Community Centre, Romiley | Sat 14 March | 11.30am-3.30pm

Here, Together is a free, relaxed creative wellbeing session designed to help people pause, connect and feel part of their community.

Inspired by the Pebble Wood™ story world and the power of noticing small moments, the session offers gentle, accessible creative activities that support emotional wellbeing, confidence and connection. Activities are open-ended and can be joined at any pace, making the space welcoming for people who may not feel comfortable attending traditional groups.

Participants will be invited to create a small piece for a shared community collage, contributing to something collective while still honouring their individual experience. The session supports preventative wellbeing by offering a calm, inclusive environment where people can feel seen, valued and connected.

Activities may include

  • Simple craft and collage activities
  • Creative reflection and imagination prompts
  • Nature-inspired storytelling
  • Optional opportunities to share or display creations

The session is open to adults, families and individuals of all confidence levels. No experience is needed. People can stay for as long or as little as they wish.

Harold Pinter's The Birthday Party | Chads Theatre | Sat 14 - Sat 21 March

This amateur production of "The Birthday Party" is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd.

Pinter's play was first performed in 1960, when its mixture of Monty Python-style absurd comedy and dark menace bewildered most audiences, but since then has been established as a classic of post-war theatre, and comes across today as brilliantly fresh and strange as ever.

It is set in a seaside boarding-house, whose landlady, Meg, pampers its sole lodger Stanley Webber, apparently a retired pianist, regardless of her easy-going husband Petey.

Two strangers arrive and take a mysterious interest in Stanley, throwing him a party even though he denies it is his birthday. A fun-loving girl, Lulu, is also invited, but the games being played are not just for laughs…

Mother's Day Carvery | Waterside Hotel & Leisure Club | Sun 15 March | 12-6pm

Make Mother's Day extra special with a carvery at Waterside Hotel & Leisure Club.

A description for this event reads: "Make Mother's Day extra special this Sunday 15th March with our family-friendly Carvery, served from 12pm to 6pm.

"Treat Mum to a freshly prepared roast with all the trimmings, priced at £16.95 per adult and £6.95 per child, with under 3s eating free. As a little thank you, every mum will receive a complimentary glass of prosecco.

"No booking required. Simply come along, gather the family and enjoy a relaxed Sunday celebration together."
