This market happens every second Friday of the month — and this one is a Christmas special!

Underbank Weekender | locations throughout Stockport town centre | Fri 12 - Sun 14 December

The Underbank Weekender is Stockport's multi- venue festival, celebrating the creative culture and music of the community.

The event takes place from the 12th- 14th December with over 60 upcoming and emerging artists and 6 of Stockport's new venues and bars, including main stages: The Underbank, Highballer, and holy Diver. 

Along with the music, there will be food, a 'Creative Stockport' magazine launch and Jubel pop-up bar.

This is the perfect occasion for a pre-Christmas celebration, night- out, or family day trip (or all three)! The festival is free- entry for most venues, excluding Sunday's Holy Diver stage, which brings a stage of six big Manchester names for £15.

Enjoy an amateur production of Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense at Chads Theatre.

A description for this event reads: "Olivier award winner Best New Comedy 2014.

"Following our successes with The 39 Steps and Hound of the Baskervilles we are delighted to present this zany adaptation of one of P.G. Wodehouse's classics, as three performers take on 12 roles!

"Will Bertie succeed in completing Aunt Dahlia's task? Of course he won't!

"Will Sir Watkyn and Roderick Spode be triumphant? Will Jeeves come to the rescue? Of course he will! And what of Gussie Fink-Nottle, Madeline Bassett, and the newts in the moonlight? So, book yourself a big slice of pre-festive fun. Guaranteed to put a smile on anyone's face – especially yours. What-ho!"

Aladdin | Stockport Plaza | Fri 12 December 2025 - Sun 4 January 2026

A description for this event reads: "Take a magical carpet ride to the North West's home of sensational Pantomime entertainment for our glittering production of Aladdin. 

"Starring Brian Capron - star of Coronation Street and many TV and stage presentations - who makes a welcome return as the really evil Abanazar in our affordable family festive extravaganza, alongside Karim Zeroual, who is best known for anchoring CBBC as a presenter for eight years and reaching the final of Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 who will be appearing as Aladdin.

"Plus a full supporting cast including the much-loved Scott Gallagher who returns as Wishee Washee."

Father Christmas visit | Staircase House | Sat 13 - Sun 14 December | 10am-3pm

Experience a special festive visit to one of Stockport's oldest houses. Your visit will begin with a trail through the historic rooms in Staircase House, where you can enjoy activities and crafts.

At the end of your visit your family will meet Father Christmas in his grotto and all children will receive a gift.

Just £15 per child with FREE entry to Staircase house for accompanying adults.

Poynton Christmas Market | Poynton Sports Club | Sun 14 December | 11am-4pm

A description for this event reads: "We are back for one last time this year for a special Christmas Artisan Market!

"Expect award winning producers and one of a kind gifts. Tasty Street food, cheeky tipples and live music and entertainment.

"As well as 40 sensational artisan stalls there will be live music by Olly Flavell and a FREE Craft Table for Children by Create it.

"The Poynton Christmas Markets are the perfect chance to finalise your shopping lists and restock those cupboards ahead of the big day itself.

Sunday Social Carvery | Waterside Hotel & Leisure Club | Sun 14 December | 12-6pm

On Sunday 14 December, Waterside Hotel & Leisure Club will also be hosting a special one-day-only Sunday Social Carvery from 12-6pm.

This festive-season highlight offers guests the chance to enjoy a traditional roast carvery with all the trimmings, freshly prepared by Waterside's talented team of chefs and served in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.

Even better... your plate comes with unlimited vegetables and gravy, including as many roast potatoes as you want.

There is no need to book, and guests can simply arrive and enjoy the meal at their leisure but when it's gone it's gone.

Pricing is set at £16.95 per adult and £6.95 per child, with children under 3 eating for free. Please note that no discounts apply to this special event.
