Foodie Friday | Market Place | Fri 30 May | 6-9pm

It's that time of the month again!

Market Place in Stockport town centre will host a myriad of street food traders in this much-loved event in the Stockport calendar.

Proceedings will run from 6-9pm on Friday 30 May.

A description for this event reads: "Foodie Friday is a truly unique social event for Stockport town centre, creating a continental-style, street cafe culture which appeals to all ages, and gives families a relaxed and enjoyable night out with their children."

If the prospect of all those traders peddling delicious cuisine from around the world isn't enough, then there will also be live music!

Goofus Theatre | Stockport Air Raid Shelters | Fri 30 - Sat 31 May

Join the fantastical Goofus Theatre in the amazing Stockport Air Raid shelters for magical encounters and tales for all, told with puppetry, play and mayhem.

Come and meet the transformed Mr Drake, hatter extraordinaire and be told his unbelievable story, venture with our ancestors on a nomadic quest through time with shadow imagery and witness the magical tale of The Glass Umbrella and the strange Blue Caps who dwell underground.

Wigan based Goofus Theatre bring their blend of puppetry, story, images, music and mayhem to Stockport for all to enjoy!

Worker Bee Market and dog show | Broadstone Mill, Reddish | Sat 31 May | 11am-3pm

Saturday 31 May will see the welcome return of Worker Bee Markets to Broadstone Mill, Reddish - but with a special twist this time.

As well as the usual array of quality local traders and makers, this month's market will also feature a dog show run by Makants Greyhound Rescue Charity, from 11am-3pm. 

There'll be lots of different categories you can enter your pooch into, as well as a Best In Show final category where one dog will win the ultimate accolade and a special prize which includes a bespoke photoshoot donated by local doggy photographer Waggly Tales and a box of doggy brownies from Wilmslow baker, Jake's Bakes.

Bring your fur baby or just come along to watch and cheer on your favourites.

Classes include prettiest girl, most handsome boy, best rescue, golden oldie, best sight hound, dog the judge would most like to take home, most appealing eyes and dog that looks most like their owner.

Entry (on the day) is £2 per dog per category and there are rosettes and prizes in all classes.

You can also browse more than 50 stalls of handmade gifts, crafts, home and garden inspiration as well as foodie treats and a choice of tasty street food including burgers, hot dogs and roast post rolls as well as tasty Asian hot snacks. Enjoy a freshly brewed coffee and fresh bakery too.

Free parking, free entry and the Shopping Outlet is open too for even more shopping!

Stockport Pride | Stockport town centre | Sun 1 June

Stockport Pride is set for a return to the town centre on Sunday 1 June, with stalls, music, a parade, and more. 

The aim of the event is to celebrate equality, diversity, and inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community in the borough. 

Proceedings will focus around the town centre, and will run throughout the day

In Market Place, for instance, there will be a range of stalls hosting local charities, community groups, clothing, crafts, food, drink, and more. 

The parade, perhaps the focal point of the event, will assemble in the Underbanks just outside Robinsons Brewery.
