Any visitor to Stockport in recent years will have noticed the STOK building.

What was formerly an M&S store has since undergone a dramatic transformation into an 'ultra-modern, ultra-flexible' office space.

It's now home to the cutting edge of Stockport businesses - civil engineers, insurance brokers and IT specialists, all in the heart of the town centre.

And as STOK project director Chloe Ellerby says, it's bringing a buzz to the local area.

"It means there are more people in the town centre who are going out to local shops", she said. "It's just that bit fuller.

"It complements what's going on in Stockport".

Inside, the building boasts sleek office spaces for a huge range of businesses - whether it's large teams of up to 100 people, or small startups.

The design respects the character of the original building, but with a contemporary edge.

And so it's no surprise that many tenants report being much more productive since moving to STOK.

"People want to come into the office", Chloe said.

"Loads of businesses say they've been more productive since moving here.

"Even with prospective tenants - when we show them around the building, nine times out of ten they want to move in."

Nor is it just the office space, shared kitchens, showers, Zoom rooms, and shared workspaces, which prove popular.

STOK is very much a social space, and not just for colleagues of the same business.

As Chloe explains, many tenants from separate areas end up speaking with one another and sharing ideas.

It goes without saying that this makes STOK a great place for networking, a nascent forge of ideas.

There are also plenty of building-wide events - social meetups, health and wellbeing events, and much more.

As well as the office spaces themselves, meeting rooms are also available to book throughout the building, as well as individual 'Zoom rooms' (Image - STOK)

All of it produces a bustling, productive and welcoming atmosphere which is sure to be conducive to any business. And it's handy for Starbucks.

The good news is that there is space available at current, particularly as STOK has opened a brand new upper floor, with more stunning office spaces.

Desks are available to rent from two people and upwards.

It's 'ultra flexible', meaning you can work to your own business hours easily. And, as aforementioned, there are also showers and kitchens for when you're planning a full day at the office.
