A Stepping Hill hospital nurse was recently invited to Buckingham Palace for a special celebration event.

Angel Rose C.O., who works in Stepping Hill's acute medical unit, did Stockport proud as she joined 400 other internationally educated nurse colleagues from across the NHS at the palace on 14 November.

The aim of the event was to celebrate the contribution of international nurses and midwives working in the UK's health and social care sector.

All 400 nurses were invited by His Majesty King Charles on the occasion of his 75th birthday, to celebrate the vital part they play in the nation's healthcare.

Nominations were open to internationally educated nurses and midwives who their colleagues believe deserve special recognition for their extraordinary contributions to their job.

The reception recognised the multitude of backgrounds and cultures which to contribute our health services.
