Glossop Road in Marple Bridge will be closing for a week near the end of the month.

From 22-29 June, between 7am and 5pm, the road will be closed between Benches Lane and the Stockport borough boundary - that is to say, just before the junction with Sandy Lane.

A signed diversion route will be in place.

Bus operators have also been informed and their routes will change accordingly.

As a Stockport Council spokesperson said: "Work is expected to take place on Sunday 22 June and Sunday 29 June 2025, between 07:00 and 17:00, depending on the weather.

"To keep everyone safe and allow the work to take place, the road will be closed during these times."
