Road closures to be aware of for Stockport 10k this weekend

Stockport is hosting its very own 10k run this summer, with an exciting route running from Edgeley to Bramhall and back again.

Taking place on Sunday 19 July, the race is open to runners of all abilities, and takes a flat road circuit throughout the borough.

As a result, a few roads throughout the borough will be subject to closures during the morning.

Starting outside Edgeley Park on Hardcastle Road, runners will head through Shaw Heath, Cale Green, Davenport, Bramhall, Cheadle Heath, before finishing up with a memorable lap of Edgeley Park.

The following roads will be closed:

  • Hardcastle Road | 6am-12pm
  • Booth Street | 8.30-9.15am
  • Shaw Heath, Cale Green | 8.30-9.25am
  • Bramhall Lane / A5102 | 8.30-9.50am
  • Bramhall Park Road | 8.30-10.10am
  • Linney Road | 8.30-10.10am
  • Tenement Lane | 8.30-10.20am
  • Ladybridge Road | 8.30-10.45am
  • Bird Hall Road | 8.30-10.45am
  • Bird Hall Lane | 8.30-10.45am
  • Dale Street | 8.30-11am
  • Mercian Way | 8.30-11am
  • Edgeley Road | 8.30-11am

The inaugural run is being organised by RunThrough, in partnership with Vitality.

Runners can nominate a charity when taking part, with participants who aren't sure invited to run in support of Stockport County Community Trust.

Entry costs £34, with every participant receiving an exclusive Vitality Stockport 10K finisher's medal and complimentary race photography.
