Residents invited to share feedback on new Stockport station proposals
By Alasdair Perry 23rd Oct 2026
Stockport residents are being invited to share their thoughts on plans to overhaul Stockport railway station.
In a new public consultation, Stockport Council is allowing people to share their comments on the proposals online, or give feedback verbally.
The plans would see Stockport station completely transformed with what would be its biggest investment in decades.
The council said the new station would 'unlock the next chapter of growth for Stockport' and drive forward the town's lauded regeneration plans with a station the town can be proud of.
This includes major redevelopment, a new footbridge, new station buildings, and better connections to the town centre.
Residents can complete an online feedback form here, which asks for people's thoughts on the station as it stands and provides space to suggest what could be improved.
You can give feedback online here.
Alternatively, you can share your thoughts in some in-person consultations which the council is hosting.
The council is hosting two in-person events:
- 4 November at Stockport Exchange, 12.30pm to 4.30pm
- 9 November at Our Lady's Primary School, Edgeley, 4pm until 8pm
