Two 'prolific' rogue traders who 'ripped off' homeowners across Stockport and the North West will be sentenced in court next month.

Steven Lee and his associate Eli Young carried out roofing work under the name Dedicated Roofing Solutions and Elite Roofing Solutions.

Under these companies, the two men carried out 'unnecessary' roofing work, and 'grossly' overcharged.

They also acted aggressively towards homeowners, and left roofs in "an exposed and dangerous state".

An investigation found that the pair had been involved in a number of different cases, with a total of eight victims parting with life savings totalling £176,600.

Mr Lee and Mr Young will be sentenced at Preston Crown Court on 12 July.

Stockport Council Trading Standards was involved in the investigation.

Mark Glynn, Director for Place Management at Stockport Council, said: "I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the witnesses who helped bring this case to court.

"This case shows that Stockport Council will take action to tackle rogue traders and individuals involved can expect to find themselves with criminal convictions."
