Poynton businesswoman helps raise £50k for cancer research in remarkable fundraising walk

A Poynton businesswoman has helped to raise £50,000 for cancer research as part of a fundraising walk.
Sarah Halsall, owner of Handpicked by Henrietta, took part in the Cardigans Charity Walk in Birmingham to help raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
The walk was almost 28 miles long, taking nine hours and 59,000 steps to complete.
There were 55 other walkers taking part, covering a circular route which incorporated most of Birmingham.
Like Sarah, most of the walkers are involved in the greeting card industry.
Lots of the donations for the walk came from shop customers, at Handpicked by Henrietta and at some of the other walkers' shops.

Handpicked by Henrietta was founded in 2012, and specialises in cards, gifts, accessories, and more.
Speaking of her sojourn, owner Sarah said: "Thanks to all our amazing customers who sponsored and sent us messages of encouragement.
"It's blown my mind, the amount of money we've made."
Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is an international charity dedicated to advancing research, raising awareness, and building a community of supporters and patients.
