The Post Office has said that it is 'not possible to provide a timeline' for when their Reddish branch will re-open.

The Reddish Post Office closed on 6 February 2026 due to 'an operational matter'.

In a statement responding to Stockport MP Navendu Mishra - who wrote to the Post Office to ask when the branch would re-open - a Post Office spokesperson said: "Matters of this nature can vary significantly in duration, and any indicative timescales would be speculative."

The spokesperson added: "There are clear limitations on the detail that the Post Office can share publicly regarding individual operational cases, and this necessarily restricts the information that can be provided in written correspondences."

In response, Mr Mishra said on social media: "I am disappointed that the Post Office has been unable to provide a clear timeline for the re-opening of the branch.

"I know how important this service is to local residents, and I want to reassure the community that I will continue pressing for clarity and raising this issue until this vital local asset is re-opened."
