Police appeal for information after 74-year-old man dies in Marple road traffic collision
Police are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Marple on Tuesday 19 November.
The driver of a BMW was killed when the vehicle crossed an opposing lane on Stockport Road, collided with another vehicle and then with a building.
The driver - a 74-year-old man - sadly passed away despite best efforts of emergency services.
The incident took place around 11.15am. Enquiries are ongoing - Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are keen to speak to any further witnesses, especially those who have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage in the moments leading up to the incident.
Detective Constable Giblin from GMP's Serious Collison Investigation Unit said: "First and foremost our thoughts are with the loved ones who have lost a family member and friend in tragic circumstances. They are being supported by specialist officers at this time.
"Whilst we continue to investigate, we need to ensure we retrieve all the best possible evidence available to us and would urge anyone who has further information that could help us to contact us direct as soon as possible."
