The organisers of Craic by the Creek expect a 'record-breaking' turnout for the fourth iteration of the festival this July.
The North's 'biggest Irish festival' returns to Whitebottom Farm from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st July, with a bigger than ever lineup and a massive turnout expected.
Matthew Kelly, Patrick Brennan and Donal Scally started the festival on 23 July 2021 - it was the first festival in the UK since Covid restrictions were lifted on the 19th of that year.
Patrick recalled how the idea for the festival came about: "Donal and Matt spent years playing in Irish bars and clubs across the UK, and after one particular St Patrick’s Day when it was raining, snowing, and sunny simultaneously, we joked that St. Patrick’s Day should be moved to the summer.
"The joke continued over the next few years, and after a while, we decided we’d actually give it a shot. [...]
"Having brilliant industry relationships helped us curate an authentic Irish line-up, as well as performers being excited to play live again. The opening act was Gary Quinn, a great country singer/songwriter whose Irish roots can be heard in his songs."
Described as "the UK's most authentic Irish and country festival", the event will feature live music, camping, and cultural events.
Headlining this year are B*witched, Nathan Carter, Mom & The Rebels, and The Tumbling Paddles.
Music takes place over two stages, with many more acts to be announced. There will even be open sessions for musicians to turn up and try out their own material.
Accomodation is spread across camping and 'glamping' - whether you want to bring your trusty one-person tent, or hire out a 'luxury Bedouin tent', replete with a proper framed bed and memory foam mattress.
Or, if you prefer the comfort of your own bed, the festival is accessible by car or by foot.
There will also be a fully stocked bar, plus a festival village with traders purveying delicious Irish bites - expect the likes of beef and Guiness toasties, and Irish-infused Indian cuisine.
Organiser Matt added: "It's like St Patrick's Day in the sunshine - hours of music, plenty of craic and the best place to see old friends and meet new ones over a pint and a dance."
He added: "Because let's face it, a cold pint of Guinness tastes even better under the warm rays of summer!
"We attract the very best talent to the festival, they come because of the setting but they come back because the atmosphere is just incredible."
Tickets are available now - adult general admission is £97.20, under 12s for £6, and camping for £21.60.
