Any visitor to Stockport by train will likely have passed through Stockport Exchange.
Referred to as Stockport's 'business hotspot', this miniature district currently comprises three glassy office blocks, complete with commercial and open space just outside the railway station.
Stockport Council has now revealed further plans for the area, devised alongside Muse, the developer.
The next 'phase' of Stockport Exchange will be another office block, 60,000 sq ft and with ground floor space for shops, cafes, bars or restaurants.
The council announced that remaining phases will see a further 185,000 sq ft of office and commercial space, and the potential for up to 100 new residential apartments.
Stockport Council and Muse are currently shaping detailed plans alongside the architect, Sheppard Robson.
As part of the plans, the council is inviting feedback from residents.
