A man who was arrested for dangerous driving of an off-road motorcycle has received a driving ban.

The 29-year-old was arrested on New Year's Day in Edgeley, during the match between Stockport County and Mansfield.

According to police at the time, the man 'decided to ride in front of officers and put members of the public at risk'. On the day, he was charged with several driving offences, possession of cannabis and failing to stop for police.

The rider's motorcycle was also seized, and police said it would 'likely' be sent to the crusher.

He appeared at Stockport Magistrates Court yesterday (26 February) and received a six-month driving ban, a driving licence endorsement, a £330 fine, and confiscation of cannabis.

Anybody with further information on off-road bikes is encouraged to contact the police.

You can report information by calling 101, LiveChat via the GMP website, or you can report information to the independent charity CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
