A new tapas restaurant in Hazel Grove is set to open on London Road.

'Taptu' will be located at 229-231 London Rd, replacing Arabian Nights, the Syrian and Lebanese restaurant that shut down in February.

It sits across the road from the Topkapi restaurant and bar, and will be run by the same owners.

This was confirmed in a Facebook post, in which a Topkapi spokesperson said: "The exciting news is finally out – if you haven't heard already, we at Topkapi are opening a new restaurant right across the road, named TAPTU!"

Visitors can expect "delicious traditional tapas dishes as well as modern twists on classic favourites".

Hassan Mehmet, the owner of Topkapi, said "Topkapi has been an important part of the community for the last 10 years, and we want to thank everyone who has helped make it such a success.

"We hope that Taptu can mean just as much as that going forward."

An opening date has yet to be confirmed for the restaurant.
