Motorcyclist dies in A555 crash between Cheadle and Poynton

A motorcyclist has died in a crash on the A555 dual carriageway between Cheadle and Poynton today (Sunday 26 April).
The male rider died at the scene around 12.40pm.
There are not believed to have been any other vehicles involved.
Police have opened an investigation are now appealing for information.
Anyone who saw the incident or has dashcam footage should call Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 quoting incident number 1398-26/04/2026.
Greater Manchester Police added that the force's thoughts are with the man's family and friends.
