Merseyway Shopping Centre has introduced a new 'quiet hour' scheme for the early morning.

As part of the scheme, music and fun rides at the centre will be switched off for one hour.

From Monday to Saturday, the hour will be from 9-10am. On Sunday, it will be from 10.30-11.30am.

This is a permanent move, taking place every day of the week. It started yesterday (Monday 3 June).

Merseyway said it was "pleased to announce" the move. A spokesperson said: "Merseyway will now be hosting a Quiet Hour permanently across the centre.

"Taking place seven days a week, all music will be turned off within the shopping mall as well as all the fun rides during this time."
