A film showcasing the lives and decisions of ordinary Stopfordians will be projected onto the Merseyway Car Park this weekend.

From 5.30-8.30pm on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 February, the free show will be projected onto the car park's 'iconic concrete screen'.

Dubbed 'AMAZE', the projection is about 'turning point moments' in the lives of everyday Stopfordians.

It's built around the stories of local people, which were gathered in a string of creative workshops with Stockport-based illustrator Molly O'Donoghue.

The project is being brought to life in collaboration with Illuminos, the internationally renowned experts who turn buildings and public spaces into immersive, unforgettable visual experiences.

Councillor Dan Oliver, council cabinet member for communities, culture and public protection, said: "AMAZE is a celebration of the people of Stockport and the stories that make our community unique.

"It's a chance for residents of all ages to come together, share in these moments, and enjoy a spectacular experience in the heart of our town centre. I hope everyone will take the opportunity to see Stockport in a new light and be part of this unforgettable event.

Molly O'Donoghue, illustrator, added: "As a creative born and bred in Stockport, it's a dream to be part of the AMAZE creative team. I've loved diving into the stories of local residents, and helping bring their experiences to life in full colour.

"It genuinely feels like a joy and a privilege to be part of something so meaningful and I can't wait to see the reactions when we light up Merseyway with Illuminos."
