McVities celebrates 100 years since the first chocolate digestive was made in Stockport

It's one of the nation's favourite biscuits, and it all started here in Stockport 100 years ago.
McVitie's is marking the centenary of the creation of the chocolate digestive at their factory along Wellington Road North in Heaton Chapel.
And it's sparked an unusual debate on the best way to eat a chocolate digestive.
Although many of us eat it with the chocolate on top - the 'correct' way may really be chocolate on the bottom.
After all, when the biscuits are made, they pass over a 'chocolate reservoir', as opposed to being covered from the top down.
Anthony Coulson, general manager at the Stockport factory, told the BBC: "It's the world's most incredible debate, whether you have the chocolate on the top or the chocolate on the bottom". He himself eats the biscuits with the chocolate on top.
There has been a McVitie's factory in Stockport since 1917. Since then, they've created some of the nation's favourite sweet treats, including jaffa cakes, Club bars, and more.
