Police are appealing for information after a man was robbed at knife-point in Heaton Norris.

The incident took place around 8pm on Sunday 8 December along Wilkinson Road, near Heaton Norris Park. The victim was walking along the road when he was approached by two men in balaclavas with weapons, believed to be knives - they demanded he handed over his phone.

After an altercation (which left the victim with a serious hand injury), the suspects made off from the scene with the victim's iPhone, headphones, and Apple Watch.

There will be an increased police presence in the area while investigations continue. 'Extensive' CCTV enquiries are also underway.

Police are also appealing for anybody with doorbell camera / dashcam footage - or any other information - to come forward.

A spokesperson said: "One of the suspects has been described as a white male, in his 20s. He has pale blue eyes and was of slim build. The second suspect is also described as a white male in his 20s."

Detective Inspector Craig Turner said: "The victim has understandably been left shaken by this ordeal and we will continue to support him while we carry out our enquiries.

"You may see additional officers in the area in the coming days while we continue to gather intelligence and offer reassurance to the public.

"We are following several lines of enquiry but we are now in a position to appeal to anyone who might have been in the area that night, who may have witnessed this incident. We're particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage or doorbell footage from the area on Sunday evening. If you have any information that you think could assist us with our enquiries to please get in touch.

"No matter how insignificant you think the information might be, it could form a vital part of the investigation."

Information can be shared by calling police on 0161 856 7992 quoting log 3148 of 08/12/24. If you would prefer to stay anonymous, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
