Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Stockport have announced the arrest of a male for burglary offences on 13 May.
The charges are eight counts of attempted burglary dwelling, four counts of vehicle interference, and one count of theft from a motor vehicle.
He is due to appear in court today.
"Stockport Neighbourhood Crime Team target offenders of acquisitive crime, those responsible for burglaries, robberies, and theft of motor vehicles", GMP said in a statement.
This is one of a number of arrests this week concerning theft or attempted theft, with six others happening earlier in the week.
It comes following increased residential concern over reported sightings of masked thieves in the area.
Councillor Matt Wynne of the Edgeley Community Association said on social media: "We have made it clear with GMP Stockport that getting a grip of these groups who are clearly making it known they are out equipped to steal is a policing priority as raised by the community."
GMP add: "If you have been burgled or wish to report any crime or information, please report it to GMP on 101 or using the live chat function at www.gmp.police.uk. Always dial 999 in an emergency.
"Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
