A man has been charged with attempted murder and assault following an incident at the Bask bar in Stockport town centre.

In the early hours of Sunday morning (23 Feb around 1am), a 25-year-old man was ejected from the Bask premises by security staff.

He later returned to the bar and 'assaulted multiple members of the security team'.

Police attended the scene at 1.03am, with multiple vans and a cordon in place. A man was rushed to hospital with a serious injury, but is not believed to be in life-threatening condition.

The suspect is due to appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court today (Monday 24 February).

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of an assault outside a nightclub on Railway Road in Stockport at 1:03am on Sunday 23 February 2025.

"A man was taken to hospital with a serious injury, which is not life-threatening."
