Greater Manchester Police (GMP) is appealing for information after a man and child were shot with a BB gun from a passing vehicle.

The incident took place along Gatley Road around 6.30pm yesterday (24 September).

The child was struck in the chest and the man was hit in the head. No serious injuries were sustained as a result.

Police are appealing for information.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Matt Delaney said: "Incidents of this nature cause concerns in our communities and will not be tolerated. We are committed to identifying who is responsible for this crime and holding them accountable.

"Officers are reviewing ANPR cameras and CCTV footage from the area. We suspect a black Volkswagen Golf may be involved in this incident and officers are appealing to anyone with dashcam footage to please come forward and support our investigation.

"If you were driving past the busy junction off the Kingways on Sunday and witnessed or captured anything suspicious, contact our neighbourhood team on 0161 856 9647 quoting log 2984 of the 24th.

"Alternatively, you can email [email protected]."
