A local mum has launched some new classes to help support postnatal recovery.
Mum of three Fran Stringer started the 'Mama Movement' classes in Bramhall, aiming to offer a place for Stockport mums to exercise and - crucially - to chat with other new mums.
The classes involve warm-ups, pilates, and Yoga, plus plenty of social time for chatting with other parents. The aim is to support both mental and physical wellbeing, in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Speaking on setting up the classes, Fran said: "We're lucky to have an amazing range of baby activity classes and postnatal exercise classes in Stockport, but what I really wanted was something that focussed on me, my wellbeing and to help me make mum friends. So I launched The Mama Movement".
Classes take place at Centre Point, Bramhall, from 11.15am, 12.15pm and 1.15pm. Introductory sessions cost £7.50, followed by a term booking. Fran leads the classes with her training and qualifications in postnatal physical activity.
Fran added: "Mum friends are absolutely essential to share worries and have a laugh with.
"A huge part of The Mama Movement is friendship, classes are offered in blocks, so you'll get to know the mums. There's an optional (but very much encouraged) post class coffee, lunch, (or sometimes wine!) with your classmates at pram-friendly venues in Bramhall."
