A Heaton Chapel pub has picked up the 'Pub of the Year' award from South Manchester and Stockport's Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
Heaton Hops has become a local favourite thanks to its encyclopaedic range of beers and ciders, with a particular focus on local brewers (although there is a stellar selection from across the country, too).
This busy bar has two cosy rooms, along with outdoor seating, which, in the summer months, creates an atmosphere which could as easily be Bruges as the A6.
This award comes not longer after the bar picked up CAMRA's 'pub of the month' award in August. Nor is this the bar's first award since opening in 2015; owners Damian and Charlotte having picked up a string of accolades over the past few years.
A description from CAMRA reads: "To say that the place has captured the imagination of local drinkers is an understatement, with the place packed out almost every night."
Heaton Hops owners said of the win: "[We're] honoured to be named SSMCAMRA Pub of the Year 2024 and congratulations to our amazing staff for their hard work. Also all our suppliers for making great beer and our customers for supporting us over the last 9 years."
It has certainly been a successful few days for pubs across Stockport, with The Magnet having earned a spot on National Geographic's '12 best UK boozers' list earlier this week.
You can find Heaton Hops on 7 School Lane, Heaton Chapel, just off the A6 / Wellington Road North. The pub opens from 1.30pm until 10pm every day except Monday (when it is closed) and Sunday (when it closes at 9pm).
