Heald Green residents are being advised to 'remain vigilant' following an uptick in reports of door-to-door scammers.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said there have been more reports of individuals going to houses - often targeting elderly or vulnerable residents - and claiming to be tradespeople, contractors, or officials.

Often, they'll demand payment for work that is either unnecessary, significantly overpriced, or never completed.

"We are urging all residents to remain vigilant and help protect family members, friends, and neighbours who may be vulnerable to this type of fraud", GMP said.

If you feel concerned about a caller, you can report it on 101, or call 999 in an emergency.

If you have other information about suspicious individuals operating in your area, police have asked that it be reported via 101 or through Live Chat on their website.
