Hazel Grove's NatWest branch closes for good today

NatWest's Hazel Grove branch is closing for good from today (Thursday 19 June).
The banking company said that this closure - and others like it across the UK - were due to a decline in the number of customers using counter services.
At the Hazel Grove branch there was a 48 percent decrease in the number of customers between 2019 and 2024.
The company also found that, on average, only 299 customers per month used the branch for personal banking - that's around 10 per day.
This closure comes not long after NatWest also closed its Heaton Moor branch on 3 June, with the company citing similar reasons - here, too, there was almost a 50 percent decrease in customers in the past five years.
Across Greater Manchester, there have been eight NatWest closures altogether in the past few weeks.

The nearest branch for most Stockport residents now is 10 Great Underbank in the town centre.
Explaining the decisions, a NatWest spokesperson said: "Banking has changed dramatically in recent years, with an increased demand for mobile and online services, as our customers benefit from a faster and easier way to bank.
"Closing a branch is a decision we take very seriously.
"We know it can affect those less confident with alternatives we offer. We'll always work hard to guide and support you through the changes and find the best way to serve you from now on."
