There will be further disruption for travellers around Stockport over the next few days, as the RMT and ASLEF unions have announced strike action.
Action will take place on Saturday 26 August, Friday 1 September, and Saturday 2 September.
On these days, a small number of routes will have a very limited train service.
RMT's strike action affects 14 rail operators, whilst ASLEF's action affects 16.
Travellers are 'strongly advised' to check before they travel.
Avanti West Coast, which operates Stockport railway station, will not be running any services on 1 September.
Both unions are demnanding 'no-strings' wage increases to reflect inflation and rising living costs.
The long-suffering passenger remains stuck in the middle between the operators and the unions, who seem little closer to striking a deal.
Avanti says: "Customers who booked tickets to travel on strike days before the industrial action was announced (11 August for 26 August and 2 September, 18 August for 1 September) can claim a full, fee-free refund from their point of purchase. Alternatively, customers with pre-booked tickets for strike days can use these on alternative travel dates."
