Funding boost for independent restaurants, cafes and more across Stockport

Independent restaurants, cafes and more across Stockport could receive a funding boost.
It's part of an American Express grant programme, which means hospitality businesses can apply for up to £11,000 in support.
The restaurant grant programme is specifically aimed at venues owned or operated by "underrepresented or economically vulnerable members of the community".
Last year, The Italian in Romiley received funding as part of the same grant scheme (the scheme runs every year).
In all, the scheme will give funding to 20 eligible restaurants in London and Greater Manchester.
Greater Manchester's Association of Town & City Management and the International Downtown Association will be responsible for distributing the funds across the region.
Local businesses can apply up until 4.59am on 1 July - apply and / or find more information here.

In applying, the businesses will have to set out what the grant would be used for - potential uses could include new dining spaces, new equipment, digital improvements, and more.
Cllr Micheala Meikle, council Cabinet Member for Economy, Regeneration & Skills, said: "This grant programme is a fantastic opportunity for our local hospitality sector.
"Stockport has a vibrant and diverse food scene, and many businesses go above and beyond to support their communities. I encourage eligible venues to apply and take advantage of this funding to help secure their future."
Mark Ross, Chief Executive of Totally Stockport, added: "It is great to see the American Express Grant Programme has returned for 2025.
"We hope that many of our town centre cafes and restaurant businesses will opt to apply for these grants and make use of these small but essential cash injections.
"If you need some support applying for these funds do get in touch with the Totally Stockport team and we will do what we can to help!"
Once again, you can apply and / or find more information about this grant here.
