Four Stockport businesses nominated for prestigious Greater Manchester awards

Four Stockport businesses have been nominated for the Greater Manchester Good Employment awards.
Datesand, Electricity North West, Firstplay Dietary Food and One+All are among those shortlisted for this year's awards, which recognise employers who are 'fair and supportive' in their day-to-day operation.
To be eligible, the businesses have to prove they are paying the Real Living Wage (higher than minimum wage) - they also have to prove they have good health, wellbeing, recruitment and management policies.
The awards, now in their fourth year, recognise employers who "exemplify excellence in employment standards across the city region".
The winners will be announced on 12 June at a special ceremony in Manchester's Science and Industry Museum.
Carol Halford, head of Greater Manchester's Good Employment Charter Unit, said: "We're excited for this year's Greater Manchester Good Employment Awards, where we'll celebrate the fantastic work of employers we've supported to raise their workplace standards.
"Their hard work and dedication are putting our city region at the forefront of good employment practices, and we can't wait to spotlight our shortlisted organisations. A massive thank you to our sponsors for making this happen."
Introducing the Good Employment Charter, Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham said: "This Good Employment Charter is a major step towards making sure that new and existing jobs right across Greater Manchester are underpinned by a commitment to equality, fair pay, and giving employees a say in how their workplaces are run – securing our city-region as an area of employment excellence.
"As we face up to the challenges of these unprecedented times, the Good Employment Charter will be absolutely fundamental to our ambitions to build back better and fairer for all."
