The Fiveways Parade post office in Hazel Grove will close this month, after the postmaster there resigned.

The office will close from 11pm on 24 October.

The Post Office has said that it will try to restore service in the area 'as soon as possible'.

In the meantime, the nearest available post offices for residents in the area are:

  • Hazel Grove Post Office (114 London Road)
  • Hempshaw Lane Post Office (522 Hempshaw Lane)

A Post Office spokesperson said: "Fiveways Parade Post Office will be closing on 24 October at 11pm due to the resignation of the postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use.

"We will continue to work hard to restore services in the area as soon as possible. In the interim alternative branches include Hazel Grove and Hempshaw Lane."
