Emergency services were called to Heaton Norris yesterday (19 April) after a fire broke out in a derelict building.

Paramedics, fire crews and police descended on Old Street to tackle the blaze.

In a statement issued on Sunday evening, Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service said: "Our crews are currently responding to a fire in a derelict building on Old Street, Stockport

"Nearby residents are advised to keep their windows and doors closed and to avoid the area."
