Those looking to offer a helping hand around Stockport will be able to find opportunities and information at an upcoming fair.

Run by Stockport's Volunteering Hub, the fair will take place on Wednesday 18 September in the Merseyway Centre, outside Specasvers.

It will feature around 20 local volunteering organisations from across the borough, who will be on hand to offer both advice and opportunities.

Visitors don't need to book in advance - just head down to the Merseyway from 9am-4pm.

In its own words, Stockport Volunteering Hub aims to: "connect community organisations to volunteers and raise the profile of volunteering in Stockport as an empowering experience that enriches our communities."

The organisation recently hosted an awards ceremony celebrating the stellar work of volunteers across the borough.
