A staple of the Stockport High Street will soon celebrate a special anniversary.

Coffee Block, based at 4-6 Merseyway, is celebrating two years in business, and is hosting an anniversary party to mark the occasion.

The party will take place on Saturday 28 September - and customers are invited to come and join the festivities.

Further still, the first 40 customers to arrive for the party and wish a happy birthday in person will receive a free tote bag filled with Coffee Block goodies.

Founded in Summer 2022, Coffee Block is an independent, family-run coffee shop. It has already become one of Stockport's most popular coffee houses.

Last year, we spoke to Coffee Block founder Dave on what sets the business apart.

He said it was "the amazing coffee and the customer service" - and there is a string of awards to back up this claim (Made in Stockport award, Taste of Stockport award, and Small Business Sunday winner).

What's more, Coffee Block aims to be a social spot for young and old Stopfordians alike, not just a place to eat and drink.

"It's extremely important for the community to have a hub", Dave says. "It's also a very diverse customer base. We've got vegan and gluten-free products, we've got teenagers coming in for the iced matchas, we've got elderly customers - all of them will be looked after here, and that's why they keep coming back."

Dave started Coffee Block after spending 13 years working at another coffee company, after which he decided to set out on his own.

He hand-picked his team - "the best I've ever worked with", he said - and designed and decorated a new coffee house in the busy Merseyway centre.

The rest, so to speak, is history. Coffee Block was formed; and with its fresh food, hand-crafted coffee and wonderful charm, Stockport can be proud to claim it as its own. It is no surprise that the place already has a devoted following.

"Really, we'd like to say thank you to our community", Dave says. "We're very grateful to anybody who has supported us."
